From working in a Corporate environment to running a Recruitment Agency, I still see similar problem when dealing with various organizations across the Industries in South Africa. It would seem that “Values”are still left out when the Job specifications are created. An interview is similar to going on a date ,you’re unable to really determine the true character of the individual as you both are trying to impress each other .It is only after a few months you start seeing the true character. It then takes many years (marriage) to actually know the person. In the business world we do not have close to this amount of time ,so by creating certain unofficial scenarios, we are able to identify a little more about the candidate .

Match Cv’s with characteristics of the Job.

A “creative position “such as a designer should have a creative Cv.We often request to candidates to create a new Cv’s within a short timeframe.

This tests :

  • Software proficiency.
  • Time management.
  • Willingness to go the extra mile (especially if mentioned on the Cv).
  • Passion (especially if mentioned on the Cv).
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Communication skills.
  • Emotional Intelligence.
  • Education vs Qualification.
  • Memory vs Intelligence.
